Data

This page contains links or file downloads to the data collected within the project, to make them accessible for other researcher’s re-use.

Nodegoat database

Most of the data collected were entered in a long-standing database predating the MSCA fellowship operated via Nodegoat by lab1100. Thanks to Pim & Geert for offering such great support over all these years! These data are accessible via a read-only guest account to my database. To be able to enter the database, use the Nodegoat proxy user name demo_winnerling, and send me an e-mail to winnerling[at]hhu.de so that I may give you the password.

These data will also be made available here in the near future as *.csv files for download, separated into individual blocks for each of the item categories ‘Persons’, ‘Publications’, ‘Publishing houses’, ‘Letters’, ‘Institutions’, and ‘Web Sources’.

Book Auction and Sales Catalogues

I also collected some data which are currently not part of the Nodegoat database (I hope they will be some day). The first block of these is a list of 342 English 18th century book auction and sales catalogues which I accessed via Eighteenth Century Collections Online. These catalogues all feature titles by at least one of my protagonists, covering the years between 1707 and 1801. The data are currently available for download in form of a PDF sheet (see download below). An Excel sheet is going to follow.

Bio-bibliographical and Universal Dictionaries

The second major data block not yet in Nodegoat is a list of the references to my protagonists in a sample of 122 lexica and dictionaries from the 18th and 19th centuries (103 specialised bio-bibliographical dictionaries, 19 universal in scope) in Dutch, English, French, German, and Latin. They are covering the years between 1715 and 1898. The data are currently available for download in form of a PDF sheet (see download below). An Excel sheet is going to follow.
